“Bar 821, one of the oldest watering holes amongst the increasingly popular Divisadero stretch, is set to re-open this Monday March 16th after a month long remodel. The whisky mavens behind widely acclaimed single malt bar Nihon have seen Bar 821 through many changes over the years. From a beer and wine bar to a higher end, yet still affordable, cocktail bar, 821 will eagerly re-enter the San Francisco cocktail scene with a facelift and a new palate.
Aside from the extended bar (note: more seating), 821 will also feature an impressive back bar (note: more booze).
The vast new selection of spirits will boast one of San Francisco’s largest selections of Amari, those deliciously bittersweet, herbal liqueurs largely known for their digestive properties. Given that Amari are traditionally and best enjoyed on their own or with a rock or two, the bar will feature an entire menu devoted to all things bitter alongside an Amaro themed cocktail list.
Whether one is looking for a pre-dinner aperitif, a post-dinner Amaro, or just a friendly place to sip a beer, patrons should expect a similar dimly lit, cozy atmosphere with a refreshingly intriguing spirits offering.”
